"Here I Am" is the title of a popular song from 1981 (see 1981 in music) by the Australian group Air Supply. It was written by Norman Sallitt and included on the group's album ''The One That You Love''. To prevent confusion, the song was originally released as "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)" so as not to be confused by the group's No. 1 hit song "The One That You Love" which contains the lyrics: "Here I am, the one that you love." Released as a single in the fall of 1981, "Here I Am" peaked at #5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in November of that year, remaining in the Top 40 for 15 weeks.〔Whitburn, Joel (1996).
